Suppose I know what is my true nature, how I am going to use this
information? How am I going to apply this information to my present
situation and how differently I am going to deal with the future problems
and issues? Will it help me understand my past actions? Will I be able to
deal with my close relatives, friends and colleagues in a better way? Will I
be able to perform better in my current job? Will I be able to make better
decisions? Will I be happier and joyful?
With my personal experience of my own continuing journey of self-
discovery, I can safely say – yes and no. It is very difficult to live in self-
awareness all the time. The pressure and stress of current situation may be
so overwhelming many a times that we tend to forget all our learnings and
wisdom, and we start reacting to situations and people. But the real
advantage is by practice one can learn to overcome such situations very
quickly and the damage due to our reactions can be minimized.
The best thing about learning about your true nature and personality is that
you are able to predict your own behaviour in given situations. This
awareness helps you to modify your behaviour to what is best suited in a
given situation. We begin to take control of our lies rather just reacting. We
may discover that we feel better and happier than before.
As an example, suppose certain people get on your nerves and you react
to them in a certain way. The outcome is always painful. Now when you
become aware of your true nature, and you start modifying your behaviour
knowingly, you will discover that the the outcome is very different and to
your liking. Oer a period of time, you will feel less stressful and more
confident about yourself.
Such is the joy of knowing your true nature.
